PromptStrip
Privacy Policy
Short version: PromptStrip doesn't collect anything.
Last updated: 2026-11-04
PromptStrip is made by nilka.studio (“we”). We built it to work entirely on your Mac. This policy explains what that means.
Data we collect
None. PromptStrip does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking SDK.
Data stored on your Mac
- Scripts you write or import (title, text, dates and optional per-script style) are kept in the app’s local database inside its sandboxed container.
- Settings, such as font, colours, speed, background and strip position, are stored in the app’s local preferences.
This data never leaves your Mac through PromptStrip. If you use Time Machine or other backups, it may be included in them like any other app data.
Files
When you import a script, PromptStrip reads only the file you pick in the macOS file dialog. The app runs in Apple’s App Sandbox and has no access to any other files.
Network
PromptStrip doesn’t need an internet connection and doesn’t contact our servers.
Children
PromptStrip is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, for example because a future feature needs the network, we’ll update this page and the date above before the change ships.
